Tours can only be booked on-site at the excursion counter located in the registration area. Please note that there is a minimum number of persons required for each tour as mentioned in each description. Excursions will take place on 7, 8 and 9 September 2009. Bookings need to be made at least one day in advance. FD Garda Lake Tour    At 9 a.m. you will be picked in front of Gran Guardia Palace by private minivan or bus and an English-speaking escort. We will be touring along the romantic Gardesana, one of the most beautiful roads in Europe with stunning vegetation such as olive trees, cypresses and flowers displaying an extraordinary splendour. Of course we offer stops at the most picturesque locations. Visit several charming villages to see monuments dating from the periods of Roman, Scaliger, Venetian and Austrian times. Enjoy a stop in lovely Sirmione with free time. In the afternoon we use a private motorboat to make our way to Garda Island taking advantage of the beautiful gardens and part of the old Palace. Transfer to San Floriano and San Giorgio Ingannapoltron to visit the most beautiful Verona Romanic churches. Then off to visit a winery located in an ancient Villa immersed in the green of Valpolicella vineyards. Enjoy a guided tour to the Estate and to the cellars with commentary, highlighting points of historic and enological interest. All of this will be followed by a wine tasting with snacks. Arrive in Venice at 10.00 a.m. and transfer by regular ferry boat through Canal Grande to St. Marcus Square where you can feel the heartbeat of Venezia. Visit San Marco Basilica with the facade mosaics, the Horses of Saint Mark, the Tetrarchs, etc. Entrance fees are included to see Pala D’Oro, the Atrium Mosaics, the treasury and the Ascension and Pentecost Domes. The Doge’s Palace, or ‘’Palazzo Ducale’’ is a masterpiece of Gothic architecture. The Giants’ staircase and Porta della Carta are truly architecturally magnificent as well as the Sala Del Maggior Consiglio and the Collegiate Rooms. Follow a ‘’Secret Itinerary’’ through the palace, including the prisons from which Casanova escaped. The Rialto Bridge makes this area a magnet for tourists exploring its food markets and pasta shops. Enjoy free lunch after which you will have free time at your disposal.
